Committee Member – Aldo Guiducci

AldoMy background is in organometallic chemistry, staying on at Oxford University after my first degree to complete a doctorate in synthesis and reactivity studies of new titanium complexes in the Mountford Group. After a post-doctoral fellowship with Shell International Chemicals B.V. in the Netherlands doing organometallic and polymer research, I returned to the UK to work as a mass spectrometry consultant and fire investigator at M-Scan Ltd (now part of SGS), before joining BP as a formulation technologist some 10 years ago.

During my time at BP I have been involved in formulating a wide variety of engine crankcase lubricants under the Castrol brand, ranging from oils for small motorcycle engines, through passenger car engines, all the way up to large heavy duty diesel truck engines. I currently work as Science and Technology Coordinator for BP Group Technology, seeking to share expertise and knowledge across the company and helping to manage external technology interfaces.

As FSTG Treasurer I am responsible for looking after budgets for conferences, expenses, and the accounts for the FSTG group.
