13:30-14:30 Lunch

14:30 – 16:30 IMRE Laboratory Tours*

i. Electron microscopy laboratories: Demo on measurement of nanoparticles to show the application of TEM in various modes: TEM, STEM, EELS, EDS

ii. XPS and ToFSIMS laboratories: Demo on characterization of nanoparticles and highlight the relative advantages of the two techniques

iii. NMR (solid/liquid): Explanation on the use of NMR on nanoparticle and formation characterization

iv. AFM/SPM: Demo on morphological characterization of polymer coating.

16:40 Depart IMRE

* Consists of tours to 4 laboratories with various characterization tools. Split into 4 groups of people with 10 – 12 pax each. Duration spent at each laboratory is less than 30 minutes, so all the tours can complete in 2 hours.
